The Book

You've been told fasting works. Nobody told you how to start.

Bloating that won't quit. Afternoon crashes. A body that stopped responding to the things that used to work. Most gut and fasting advice answers that with jargon, extremes, or a plan built for somebody else's life.

This book starts where you are. It explains — in plain language — what your gut actually does, why the gut–brain connection shapes your mood and focus, and how different fasting windows affect real bodies. Then it hands you the exact fasting protocol to reset your gut, prevent digestive issues (leaky gut, SIBO, CGDs) — and lose weight along the way.

Tina writes from lived experience: fasting first eased her own perimenopausal symptoms, then helped her brother transform his blood pressure and prostate health over a guided 21-day fast. What follows is the honest version — what to expect, what to eat when you break a fast, when to slow down, and when to call your doctor.

Practical steps, zero shame, and a plan you can still be doing next month.

About the Author

Real change, explained by someone who's lived it.

I've spent over 20 years in education, research and health advocacy — but honestly, what drives me isn't the credentials. It's watching real people finally get real answers to the things that have been quietly wearing them down: gut health, brain fatigue, chronic illness, menopause, marriage, the chaos of parenting in the social media age. I take the complicated stuff and make it simple enough to actually use.

My own journey with fasting started in a hard place — I was deep in perimenopause, looking for anything that might help, and fasting did. Then I watched it change my brother's life too: I guided him through a 21-day fast, and his blood pressure and prostate health transformed. That's when I knew this wasn't just something that worked for me — it was something worth sharing properly.

So if you're looking for honest, clear guidance from someone who's actually been there — not just studied it — I'd love for my books to be where you start.

Inside the Book

Chapter One — Start Where You Are

The first thing I want you to know is that your body is not broken. It is overwhelmed. There is a difference, and that difference is where healing begins.

For most of us, the trouble did not arrive overnight. It arrived through years of eating on the run, sleeping too little, carrying stress we never set down, and never giving the digestive system a single quiet hour to do its repair work. Fasting is not a punishment for any of that. Fasting is simply the pause your gut has been asking for.

When I began, I did not start with twenty-one days. I started with twelve hours — dinner at seven, breakfast at seven — and I paid attention. That is your first assignment too. Before you change what you eat, change when you stop.

In the pages that follow (from Chapter One), we'll map your current rhythm, choose a fasting window that fits your real gut needs, and provide you with realistic, actionable steps to achieve your goals…
